The facts as stated may or may not be true. It could be inferred that annual C0 deaths all occur in the rented sector, which is not necessarily the case. Despite allegedly having an open.gov.uk we have negligible information on the background to C0 incidents. We can only suppose that information might be embarrassing if published.

We will be watching to see if this is just another scheme to extract hard earned cash from Installers.

GAS SHIELD is about to take the next very significant step in creating even greater gas safety by highlighting this issue and providing a new solution.

Using the power of the Internet, GAS SHIELD provides a user-friendly website that allows Landlords to register their properties as being gas safety compliant, in a completely new online facility. GAS SHIELD will then hold electronic copies of certificates and make them available for viewing by tenants, letting agencies, insurance companies and mortgage lenders. Landlords will then be automatically reminded each year when renewal is required. More importantly, GAS SHIELD will stimulate non-compliant Landlords to register and a visit will then be arranged with a registered Installer.

Millions of tenants will also be able to ‘log’ their properties with GAS SHIELD, which will then trigger letters to their Landlords to encourage them to utilise the GAS SHIELD facility.

Installers are invited to join GAS SHIELD by visiting the web site on www.gas-shield.com and to take advantage of the opportunity to gain the significant amount of safety check work that will be stimulated by GAS SHIELD. But much more than this, GAS SHIELD will offer a number of very useful facilities specifically aimed at the Installer, which will include news, forums, promotions and events all detailed in a friendly online community web-site.
